This is the speed controller, the electronic device that converts the information sent over the radio into motor speeds. Working on the software for the controller was the most enjoyable part of the project for me, and working on the electronics was the second-best part.

This board was manufactured by ExpressPCB, and I even entered it in the design contest that they ran in the summer of 2000. I hoped that the BattleBots cachet would help me win. Unluckily for me, the World Peace team also used ExpressPCB, and their winning entry was amazing, a lot more involved than just a speed controller.
