For those of you unfamiliar with electronics, the circular image
above is the schematic symbol for a transistor, the basic switching
element in modern electronics. Transistors have limits built into
them, mostly having to do with how much electricity they can switch,
and if you exceed those limits, you can get very interesting
failures. I've experienced a few of them in my garage, and the
logo commemerates them.
The equation at the bottom describes one way to make a transistor
catch on fire. Pedants will notice that this isn't technically a
condition of second breakdown, but I'm using that for a team name
anyway: it describes the transistors, the robot and sometimes even
the builder.
